A Plumber Glen Waverley Residents Can Rely on
Plumbing emergencies can include water failures or leaks, a lack of heating or blocked drains. An apparent blockage, however, can sometimes be caused by a collapsed drain or a burst pipe.
Blocked drains can often be indicated by poor drainage, sewage back-up, standing water, a gurgling noise or bad smells. These symptoms must be investigated and the problems rectified before they become worse and cause real trouble. The traditional way of fixing collapsed, or broken drainage pipes is to excavate the area and replace them with new pipes. However, where possible, we will instead use a pipe re-lining method that has several benefits because it:
- involves no excavation and so is much less disruptive
- is more practical in areas where access is restricted, and it may be difficult to bring in machinery
- is generally cheaper than traditional methods since there is less work required
- is better for the environment due to minimal ground disturbance
- can be used to repair small leaks and cracks as well as more extensive damage
- will last for up to fifty years if the correct materials are used.
Pipe re-lining is a non-invasive process, sometimes known as trenchless, no dig or cure-in-place pipe technology that can be completed much quicker and with less mess than conventional methods. However, it is not suitable for all pipes, which must generally have a diameter of at least four inches (10 centimetres). Read More
A Proven Process for Fixing Damaged Pipes
Our re-lining process is tried and trusted, involving a number of steps:
- A CCTV camera identifies the location of the damaged area of the pipe and its extent.
- The interior of the pipe is thoroughly cleaned using high-pressure water so there is no remaining debris or sludge in the damaged area.
- A liner made of special resin is inserted into the pipe.
- Air is used to inflate the liner, so it makes contact with the inside of the pipe.
- The resin liner is then cured to harden it. This is done by one of three methods:
- UV light that acts on the resin
- a chemical reaction between two or three resins that are used in the liner
- hot water or steam that is injected into the pipe to harden the liner.
The result is an internal pipe created within the original damaged pipe. This will last many years, possibly up to fifty or more, and will be equally as good as installing a new pipe but without the mess.
This is just one of the many services that we offer, both on an emergency and regular basis and for commercial and domestic users. So, for any plumbing services in or around Glen Waverley, contact us as your local provider.
